Enventra Announces MoboMath for Microsoft Word

Painless Math Input for Tablet Users

01 August 2008
Lexington, MA, USA - Enventra, Inc. today announced MoboMath™, an equation editor that uses natural handwriting input to easily create and edit math expressions for Microsoft® Office Word and other applications. The announcement was made at the Mathematical Association of America's annual MathFest conference in Madison, WI.

Students, academics, engineers and others who rely on mathematical notation will find MoboMath a far easier way to create technical content than traditional keyboard and palette methods. MoboMath's patented technology allows users to enter math expressions just by writing them and translates those expressions into a typeset format for use in technical documents, presentations and web pages. MoboMath also offers a set simple set of editing tools that allow users to easily change and manipulate expressions.

"MoboMath will be a liberating experience for many people who use math on computers," said Peter Garst, chief scientist of Enventra. "It finally does for math what word processors long ago did for text."

MoboMath supports Microsoft Office Word 2003 and 2007 and is fully compatible with the keyboard-based Office Equation Editor. MoboMath also supports TeX, MathML, and image formats for use in a wide range of popular applications. MoboMath runs on Windows® XP (SP2 or later) and Windows Vista™ operating systems. A tablet PC, UMPC with pen support, or external tablet is required for handwriting input.

A fully-functional trial version of MoboMath is currently available for download from the Enventra web site at http://www.enventra.com. The product will be available for purchase on the site in early August.
