Enventra Announces MoboMath Support for Maple

New MoboMath version enables handwritten Maple input

January 28, 2009
Lexington, MA, USA – Enventra, Inc. today announced support for Maple 12 in the latest version of MoboMath, the handwritten equation editor for technical documents, calculations, and web pages. Using the newly released MoboMath 1.1, Maple users can now enter math expressions for Maple worksheets in their own handwriting, just as they would on paper.

For the first time, MoboMath enables tablet PC users to work effectively with Maple without a keyboard and offers a streamlined alternative to the traditional use of palette and keyboard entry to build math expressions. Users can simply write expressions by hand in MoboMath, convert them to a formatted layout, and move them to Maple as 2D math entries for calculation.

"We are excited to offer this new capability to users of Maple 12," said Terry Rochford, President of Enventra. "The availability of handwritten input support for Maple will give users new alternatives for easily building Maple worksheets in classroom, laboratory, and remote job site settings where tablet use is more convenient or efficient than a keyboard."

In addition to support for Maple 12, MoboMath 1.1 includes improved MathML output for compatibility with many standards-based third-party applications. As in previous releases, MoboMath also supports Microsoft Word, TeX, and LaTeX equation formats. MoboMath can be used with tablet PCs, ultra-mobile PCs with pen support, and external tablets on Windows Vista and Windows XP (SP2 or later) systems.

Maple 12, the flagship product of Maplesoft, is an industry standard tool for solving complex mathematical problems and creating rich technical documents. Maple is widely used at academic, research, and engineering sites throughout the world.

MoboMath 1.1 is available for immediate trial download and purchase through the Enventra web site at www.enventra.com.
