Enventra Announces MoboMath Support for Mathematica

New MoboMath release enables handwritten input for Mathematica notebooks

February 18, 2010
Lexington, MA, USA - Enventra, Inc. today announced support for Mathematica® 7 in the latest version of MoboMath, the handwritten equation editor for technical documents, calculations, and web pages. With the new MoboMath 1.2 release, Mathematica users can create handwritten math expressions and evaluate them in their Mathematica notebooks using a tablet PC or external tablet.

Unlike the math handwriting recognition in Windows 7, MoboMath supports many of the most popular Mathematica functions, allowing users to build complex Mathematica notebooks without a keyboard or palettes. Users can plot, solve, simplify, expand, and factor handwritten expressions or evaluate them using many of Mathematica's built-in math functions.

"We are very pleased to extend support to the Mathematica user community," said Terry Rochford, President of Enventra. "Mathematica is a worldwide leader in computer algebra and calculation, and the availability of general purpose handwriting support will give users new alternatives to build fully-functional Mathematica notebooks in classrooms or settings where keyboard use is inconvenient, such as remote job sites and research locations."

"MoboMath has evolved from a technical documentation tool to a general-purpose math editor during the past year," said Peter Garst, Chief Scientist at Enventra. "Users can now build, evaluate, and plot complex expressions using only handwritten input. This has been our goal since the first release of MoboMath, and we are excited to bring this new capability to Mathematica users."

In addition to support for Mathematica, MoboMath 1.2 includes enhanced support for other third-party products; improved recognition of longer, more complex expressions; a variety of user interface improvements; an expanded and revised help system; and many other enhancements. As in previous releases, MoboMath supports Microsoft Word 2007 and 2003, MathML, TeX, LaTeX and image formats. MoboMath can be used with Mathematica on tablet PCs and external tablets on Windows 7, Windows Vista, and Windows XP (SP2 or later) systems.

MoboMath 1.2 is available for immediate trial download and purchase through the Enventra web site at www.enventra.com.
