Customizing MoboMath

To speed processing and get the best results from MoboMath, you should disable any characters or expression elements that you don't normally use. This can often make a dramatic difference in MoboMath's responsiveness and accuracy.

You can enable or disable broad classes of expressions, specific expression elements, or individual characters and operators through the Math menu. If your needs later change, you can easily restore any items you have disabled.

To get started:

Choose Configure from the Math menu to run the configuration assistant. This will guide you step by step through the most common expression elements, operators, and characters that you may want to enable or disable.

To enable or disable particular expression types:

Choose Expression Types from the Math menu to enable or disable a particular class of expressions such as matrices without rerunning the configuration assistant.

To control individual characters and operators:

Choose Character Set from the Math menu to enable or disable individual characters and operators. The Character Set dialog allows you to enable or disable each supported text character, Greek character, and math operator.

Greek characters which are identical to normal text characters are not available. Since there is no way to visually distinguish these, MoboMath interprets them as normal text characters in all cases.

Other Greek characters such as nu are easily confused with standard text characters and need to be written carefully. If you don't normally use these characters, you should disable them to improve performance and avoid errors.
