Creating TeX expressions in MoboMath

TeX is a typesetting system for publishing math expressions and other content. Although TeX is focused on publishing, some applications may also be able to interpret TeX expressions for computation.

Since TeX is entirely text-based, it can be used in virtually any word processor or text editor. Typically, TeX documents are sent on to a typesetting system for publishing.

Before creating TeX expressions for a document or application, you need to choose TeX options that are compatible with your target.

To set the appropriate TeX options for your target:

  1. Choose Options from the Target menu to open the Target Options panel.

  2. Select the TeX tab near the top of the panel.

  3. Choose either AMS-LaTeX or standard TeX format, depending on your requirements.

  4. Choose between equations that are displayed inline within the text of a paragraph, display equations which are centered on their own line of a document, or numbered display equations.

After you choose the appropriate options for your target, you can begin creating TeX expressions using MoboMath.
