Using your expressions in other applications

Equations you create in MoboMath are typically used in other applications for documentation, calculation, or plotting. The steps below outline the basic workflow for using expressions, although some details may vary depending on the target application.

1. Choose a target application or format

Choose your target application or math format from the Target menu or toolbar pop-up. If you select MathML or TeX as your target format, also choose Options from the Target menu to verify that your MathML or TeX settings are correct for your target application.

Be sure to select a target before writing any expressions because your choice affects the set of function names that MoboMath will recognize.

2. Write an expression

After selecting a target, write your first expression and tap Enter to convert it to formatted math.

3. Copy the expression to the target application

Either copy and paste or drag the expression into the target application or document. Additional steps may be required at this point to confirm your action or process the expression.

MoboMath has built-in support for a number of applications, including Mathematica, Maple, Microsoft Word, MathMagic, and MathType (including MathType equations in Office and iWork applications). Many other standards-based applications are supported by the MathML and TeX target formats.
