The MoboCalc input panel

MoboCalc appears as a floating input panel above your Excel worksheet.  It provides an input area where you can enter and edit cell contents, a set of navigation controls, buttons to verify or cancel your input, and a toolbar with additional functionality.

These are the key features and controls in the MoboCalc input panel:

MoboCalc Window Parts

Input area

The Input area works just like the Excel formula bar. It displays current cell contents and is the area you use to write and edit text, numbers, and formulas.

Enter button

The Enter button has the same function as the Enter key on your keyboard. Use it to send new or edited cell values to Excel and optionally move to the next cell.

Check button

Use the Check button to preview your handwritten entry as text before sending it to Excel. This gives you a chance to correct any errors.

Cancel button

Use the Cancel button to erase any pending changes or clear the current contents of a cell.

Navigation buttons

Use the navigation buttons to enter any pending changes and move to the next cell in the direction you choose.

Pen tool

Select the Pen tool to write in the Input Panel.

Eraser tool

Select the Eraser tool to erase all or part of a new or existing entry from the Input Area. If your pen has an eraser tip, you can use the pen's eraser without having to first select the Eraser tool.

Options

Use the Options button to display the Options Dialog where you can set preferences for formula display and change other settings.

Help

Use the Help button to display the Help menu.

The MoboCalc input panel shows and hides itself automatically while you work with Excel. You can close the input panel at any time by tapping the close button in the upper right-hand corner of the MoboCalc window. To display the input panel again, tap the Ink Input button on the Excel 2003 toolbar or on the Add-ins tab of the Excel 2007 ribbon, or select Ink Input from the Tools menu in Excel 2003.

Resizing the input panel

Set the MoboCalc input panel to a convenient width by dragging the left or right borders of the window.

The height of the MoboCalc input panel increases automatically to display long cell entries and shrinks again when the extra space is no longer required.  You can also drag the upper or lower borders of the input panel to change its height.
