You can use MoboMath with Maple™ 12 and later versions to create handwritten expressions that can be evaluated and plotted in your Maple worksheets. To get started using MoboMath with Maple, follow the steps below.
Set Maple as your export format
Choose Maple from the Export menu, or select it in the Configure Export dialog.
Write an expression in MoboMath
Write a math expression in the MoboMath window as you normally would on paper or a whiteboard.
Recognize it
Tap the Enter button in the MoboMath toolbar to translate your handwritten entry into a formatted math expression.
Move it to Maple for evaluation
Drag or copy and paste the translated expression into your Maple worksheet.
When Maple sees your expression, it asks whether to add it as 2D math. Tap “Yes” to insert the expression into your worksheet.
Evaluate your expression
To evaluate your expression, press the Enter key (if your keyboard is available) or the Enter button next to your tablet PC’s screen. You can also select Evaluate from Maple's context menu.
To access the Maple context menu, right-tap or tap and hold the expression with your pen. If your pen has a button on the side, pressing that button while tapping is usually equivalent to a right-tap or right-click.
Continue working
By repeating the steps above, you can continue entering and evaluating expressions to build an entire Maple worksheet using MoboMath.
Additional Tips
Before you begin, you may want to rerun the Configuration wizard and check your settings in the Grammar menu to be sure all the math elements and symbols that you use in Maple are enabled.
In addition to standard math expressions, you can use many of the most popular Maple functions in MoboMath, including solve, simplify, expand, factor, value, eval, plot, and numerous math functions. These allow you to build highly functional Maple worksheets using only handwritten input. Note that special arguments and options of some of these functions are not currently supported.
If you also use MoboMath with other applications, be sure to change your export format back to Maple if necessary whenever you want to use MoboMath with Maple.
