Using MoboMath with Mathematica |

You can use MoboMath with Mathematica® 7 to build Mathematica notebooks using only handwritten input. Expressions you write in MoboMath and copy to Mathematica can be evaluated and plotted just like native Mathematica expressions.
To get started using MoboMath with Mathematica, follow these steps.
Set Mathematica as your export format
Choose Mathematica from the Export menu, or select it in the Configure Export dialog.
Open a Mathematica Assistant
If not already displayed, open either the Basic Math Assistant or the Classroom Assistant from the Palettes menu in Mathematica. These provide an easy way to evaluate MoboMath expressions without using the keyboard. Just tap the Enter button to evaluate your expression.
Write an expression in MoboMath
Write a Mathematica expression in the MoboMath window as you normally would. You can use many popular Mathematica functions, as well as standard math expressions. Then tap the Enter button on the MoboMath toolbar to convert your handwritten input to a formatted expression.
Copy the expression into Mathematica
Next, copy and paste the expression from MoboMath into Mathematica. Select Copy from either the MoboMath Edit menu or context menu, and use the Mathematica Edit or context menus to paste the expression into your notebook in TraditionalForm.
Evaluate the expression
Tap the Enter button in either the Basic Math Assistant or Classroom Assistant palette to evaluate your expression.
Continue working
By repeating the steps above, you can continue entering and evaluating expressions to build an entire Mathematica notebook using MoboMath.
Editing existing expressions
Any expressions you copy to Mathematica and many that are in your existing notebooks can be moved back to MoboMath for editing.
To edit an existing expression, select it in Mathematica and choose Copy as MathML from the Edit or context menu. Paste the expression into MoboMath, modify it using MoboMath's editing tools, and copy and paste it back into Mathematica. Your edited expression can now be evaluated.
Additional Tips
Before you begin, you may want to rerun the Configuration wizard and check your settings in the Grammar menu to be sure all the math elements and symbols that you use in Mathematica are enabled.
In some cases, it may be more convenient to enter several expressions at a time in the MoboMath window before moving each of them to Mathematica. MoboMath supports separate math regions to make this simple. Be sure to tap the Enter button after entering each expression since MoboMath can only translate one expression at a time.
In addition to standard math expressions, you can use many of the most popular Mathematica functions in MoboMath, including Solve, Simplify, Expand, Factor, and Plot, as well as a number of math functions. These allow you to build highly functional Mathematica notebooks using only handwritten input. Note that special arguments and options of some of these functions are not currently supported.
If you also use MoboMath with other applications, be sure to change your export format back to Mathematica if necessary before starting your work.
