Using MoboMath with Microsoft Word

Top  Previous  Next

MoboMath supports native Microsoft® Word Equation Editor formats for both Microsoft Word 2003 and 2007. Microsoft Word 2007 introduced a new MathML-based equation editor, but equations from Word 2003 and earlier versions are still supported in Microsoft Word 2007.

Choosing an export format

Choose an appropriate format for your document and your version of Word from the MoboMath Export menu.

For Microsoft Word 2003, you need to select Word 2003 as the export format.

For Microsoft Word 2007, you can choose either Word 2003 or Word 2007 formats, depending on which style of equation you want to use.

Working with Microsoft Word

Enter an expression in the MoboMath window and recognize it by tapping the Enter button.

Then drag the expression to the spot where you want to insert it in your Word document, or copy and paste it to that spot. If you are using Word 2003 format, you may need to double-tap the expression in Word to reformat it using the Microsoft Word 2003 Equation Editor.

Editing existing expressions

Any expressions you copy to Microsoft Word can be edited using Word's built-in equation editor. In addition, you can edit most existing Word expressions in MoboMath.

Existing Microsoft Word expressions can be dragged or copied and pasted into MoboMath for editing, where you can modify them using MoboMath's editing tools. When your changes are complete, you can then drag or copy and paste your expression back into Microsoft Word to update an existing document.
