Brackets

In MoboMath, brackets include parentheses (), square brackets [], angle brackets <>, and braces {}. These characters must normally be used in pairs, so MoboMath has special rules for handling them, providing several ways to add and remove them from expressions.

You can use standard editing techniques to add brackets. To insert brackets you can write them into an expression where you want them, and then use the Enter button or gesture to recognize them.

To  remove brackets, you can just cross them out. When you cross out one bracket the matching bracket also disappears.

You can also use the Add Brackets command from the Edit menu, which will add enough brackets to make the expression completely unambiguous. This is useful if you are using your expressions in calculations, where for example it will make a difference if some term is or is not considered part of a summation. If the Add Brackets command shows you an expression structure different from the one you intended, you can manually remove and add brackets as needed to bring it into line.
