Some MoboMath editing tools apply specifically to matrices.
You can insert space in matrices by adding blank rows or columns. After expanding the matrix, write something in the empty space as your next step; otherwise it will close up again.
The gesture to add a blank column is a line drawn down the entire height of the matrix where you want the new column to be inserted. This works before the first column or after the last column as well. Here's an example:
The insert column gesture takes effect immediately, but to recognize the new entry in this example use the enter command after writing the "a".
To add a blank row, draw a horizontal line across the width of the matrix where the row should be inserted. This also works before the first or after the last existing matrix row.
There is no special command to delete a row or column, because matrices "shrink to fit". When you delete the last entry in a row or column, the column or row is also removed.
You can freely use other editing techniques on matrices. An empty matrix position is a valid target, so you can write in it directly or drag an expression into it. You can also move matrix entries around by dragging an existing entry to an empty position.
