MoboMath works only with valid mathematical expressions. Unlike some display oriented systems, it will not accept a jumble of math symbols – expressions have to be meaningful.
If there are types of expressions which MoboMath handles but you never use, you can improve performance and accuracy by disabling them. The configuration wizard provides a quick way to review the types of expressions and characters you may want to disable.
MoboMath accepts most common math notation through calculus and linear algebra, but there may be cases where you want to use more specialized notation. For example, MoboMath does not currently handle set notation or commutative diagrams. If you run into this situation, you should do two things:
The Character set dialog lists all the characters you can write in MoboMath. In some cases you can import and edit expressions with characters outside this set, but they will not be recognized in new input. To improve your results, disable characters you rarely or never use in the Character set dialog. You can always reenable them later if you need them.
