Free MoboMath 1.1.2 Update for Licensed Users
Important Note: A newer version of MoboMath was released on February 18, 2010. We urge you to download the most recent update here.
The latest update to MoboMath, the handwritten equation editor for technical documents, calculations, and web pages, was released on April 14, 2009 and is now available for download. MoboMath Version 1.1.2 is a free upgrade for licensed users of all earlier MoboMath versions.
All currently licensed users who purchased and installed MoboMath before April 14, 2009 may upgrade to the new release. If you downloaded and installed MoboMath on or after April 14, you should already have the latest version. If you are not sure whether you need this update, you can check your current version number by selecting About MoboMath from the MoboMath Help menu.
You may download MoboMath 1.1.2 through the link below. Once the download is complete, simply open the downloaded file to install the upgrade.
This new version of MoboMath includes the following important improvements:
- The rules for valid expressions have been relaxed to allow entry of single characters (such as a standalone integral sign or summation symbol) and longer expression fragments that would otherwise not be valid. This helps avoid recognition errors for incomplete entries.
- More flexible integral limits such as "x=0" are now accepted.
- A number of new standard function names have been added to MoboMath to improve name recognition, and mixed case function names are now accepted.
- Character adaptation has been significantly improved. Previously, some input panes in the character recognition dialog could become inoperable under certain circumstances, making it impossible to enter the necessary six samples for a character. This problem and a number of associated issues have now been corrected. Also, recognition accuracy has been improved for adapted characters.
- A number of pen input improvements have been made to ignore inadvertent taps and "hooks" (double traces) that can occur at the start or end of a pen stroke. Previously, these could lead to inaccurate recognition results.
- Many other changes to improve stability, accuracy, and functionality are also included in MoboMath 1.1.2.
This upgrade is recommended for all current MoboMath users.
